Antonia Shankland, the yarn rep for Shibui Yarns will be at Down Cellar to introduce us to all of the company’s new yarns, new colors, and to help us lose our inhibitions and mix it up! Shibui has a number of patterns that incorporate different yarn bases for unique and interesting garments. MIX is a concept of combining Shibui yarns to create unique fabrics and use yarn as ingredients that can be brought to new levels! At the party, you will get a chance to swatch different combinations of Shibui yarns and marvel at the results. We do ask that you call in advance to register – although our doors will be open to all, those who register will receive a 10% discount off any Shibui yarn purchased or ordered during the mixing party. We will also take special orders (please refer to our special order policy).

Toby of Toby Roxane Designs is back with her latest collection of shawls, The Tarot Collection. Take advantage of the opportunity to see the shawls in person and let the designer and our experienced staff help you find the perfect yarn to make one (or more!) of your own. Join us on Monday, September 9th from 6-8pm.
Most of the shawls are knit in fingering/sock weight, but there are also patterns for DK and worsted yarn. While all of Toby’s patterns work great with solids or tonals, there are a few that would make a skein of hand painted variegated yarn like Zen Garden, Claudia Hand Painted really shine:
